I’m a bookworm through and through… sorta… I guess a true bookworm would ignore invites from friends and continue to snuggle in a blanket with a brand new book.
But I’m a social bookworm… the recluse bookworm is only for the experts. 😉
However, I do know that bookworms love words (why would we read if we didn’t??) and they’d appreciate the thoughtful gifts that include at least of one of three things:
Books. Mugs. Chocolate.
You can never go wrong with a stack of books, a mug filled to the brim with hot chocolate, and a couple bars of dark chocolate to eat while reading (if you’re not a messy eater that is…). 🙂

This is kinda the obvious gift for a bookworm. Find out what their favorite genre is or when the next book in their favorite series is coming out. It would make an awesome surprise for the teen (or adult) reader in your life.
If you’re looking for books for fantasy lovers check out my post on Fantasy Books for Teens.
Bookmarks will make a great gift for the book lover who doesn’t have the mental stamina required to stay up past midnight to finish their book(s).
For the bookworms proud of their blood-shot eyes and dark circles it might take a little more convincing… But these bookmarks are so cute/funny they’ll probably have them hanging on their walls. 😉
This would make a great gift for coffee lovers who enjoy reading!
Define ‘bedtime’… If your bedtime is 3 am and that’s when you finish reading, then you didn’t read past your bedtime… There’s always a loophole… remember that. 😉
Every bookworm has thought this at least a million times. This owl bookmark is sooo cute! When I first glanced at it, I thought the red book was the owl’s mouth and was like, what?? It looked like a little monster thing… I don’t know, I’m weird and blind.
3. Mugs for Book Lovers
These mugs would make awesome gifts for bookworms or in this case, a book dragon. 😉
What book lover hasn’t thought that to themselves once every five books?
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve said that phrase. In my not so humble opinion, the books are always better. I guess there are some exceptions… can’t think of them right now, but I know they’re out there!
You can never say no to books! Unless you find them dull and/or weird… Yes, book lovers really do need all those books.
4. Pillows for Bookworms
Throw pillows make the perfect gifts for readers who want to curl up on their favorite chair and escape reality. Plus, some of them are pretty funny!
This is what readers tell their sleep-deprived selves… Can’t go to sleep until you finish the next chapter!
I’m a little ashamed to admit that this thought has crossed my mind before… but it was very brief! I promise I won’t stop getting/asking for more books!
If you’re a bookworm yourself, all you need to do is get this pillow and hold it up whenever people ask what you want for your birthday/Christmas. Or, you know, you could just say it out loud… but where’s the fun in that?
5. Blankets for Bookworms
You can’t read a great book if you’re not feeling comfortable! These blankets are warm and fuzzy and would make a super great gift for readers!
6. Totes for Bookworms
These totes are perfect for bookworms to carry their books to the beach and read!
This is kinda true. Books will make any reader happy… that’s why they make the best gifts!
Not sure if my books would stay on top of each other if I tried to sit on them. It also wouldn’t be a very comfortable position in the first place…
7. T-Shirts for Bookworms
I still freak out every year because I’m slowly starting to run out of books I like to read… Come on, Authors, keep writing books that I like!
This T-shirt is for men and women as well as children. So all bookworms can get this T-shirt!
They also come in white, silver, Heather gray, and Heather blue. So many options!
This cute tea shirt would be perfect for the reader who likes tea better than hot chocolate and coffee.
8. Socks for Bookworms
And what bookworm could read without fuzzy socks? Not me, that’s for sure! This set of colorful fuzzy socks are sure to keep any bookworm’s feet nice and warm.
9. Scarves for Bookworms
Pride and Prejudice fans will love this black and white quote scarf!

12. Book Lover Decor
This is a funny box sign. One that I would probably never get because it’s too blunt for me… I would get something like, can you come back another time? Please??
Those poor, poor dinosaurs… if only they were bookworms then maybe they would still be here… ’cause everyone wants that, right? 😉
There seems to be a theme here with the tea… This is a fun Keep Calm sign and it would add a little flair to your favorite space to read.
This is a cool purple book fan and would make a perfect gift for readers.
This decorative wooden pencil holder would make an awesome gift for readers and just normal people who love to keep their pens and pencils and other desk things organized and under control.
13. Keychains for Bookworms
Do they have keys and love to read? Book-themed keychains would be perfect for them! Also, they’re great for purses or decorations if they’re weird like that. 😉
This key chain made by Gusty Goodness is so cute! And the quote… I feel like that’s true of every bookworm in existence.
That’s my mantra… basically. I drink tea almost every single afternoon and reading is one of my many favorite things to do… I should get this keychain!
14. Puzzles for Bookworms
This puzzle is really creative and looks like a lot of fun. It also looks like it would take forever to finish… This puzzle has little ‘clues’ on the backs of the pieces that can help you figure out which pieces go with which group… Of course, you could always figure that out on your own.
This really is a reader’s paradise! It’s a fun and magical puzzle for bookworms to tackle. This puzzle has a thousand pieces so good luck getting it done in an hour. 😉
What book lover doesn’t love going to the book store? This would make a perfect gift for the bookworm who can’t stop shopping for books. This puzzle also has a thousand pieces.
15. Coloring Books for Book Lovers
For the artistic reader, an adult coloring book would make a great gift for them! There are 40 pages and I’ve seen a couple pictures of the inside, it’s pretty awesome!
For fans of Jane Austen this creative coloring book will make a great gift for them. The pages are removable so that should make it easier to color in the beautiful designs.
16. Notebooks for Book Lovers
Fancy and snazzy notebooks for the bookworm who also aspires to be a writer. Or to critique her least favorite book… Notebooks make awesome gifts for writers as well!
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!”
Amen. I couldn’t agree more. 🙂 Book lovers and fans of Pride and Prejudice will love this black and white faux chalk notebook.
Okay, I really love cats (even though I don’t have one) and this little cat in a tiny teacup is sooo cute! This would make an awesome gift for readers who adore cats!
Eh… I have mixed feelings… sometimes the bookmarks are so cool and amazing you just want to quickly place them between the pages… it’s not impossible to read with a bookmark blocking half the words, right??
17.Pens for Bookworms
It might not seem like it at first, but pens really are a reader’s best friend. They’re needed to underline the best lines in the book or to decorate the inside of the cover if the reader is super artsy.
This is a really cute set of floral ballpoint pens. Get the reader in your life a set of pens and a notebook and they’ll happily read and write at the same time!
Birthdays or Christmas, Friend day or Random day… these gift ideas for readers would be perfect for any occasion!
And the bookworms in your life will be so happy to receive gifts from the super thoughtful friend/sibling/parent/teacher/random person in their lives (that’s you!).
Have a wonderful day!
